RUMOR: While not confirmed by Capcom officially, it seems some gameplay details of RE4 have slipped out from Las Vegas.
By way of German Site GameFront, details from the playable build of RE4 at Capcom's Gamers day seem to have been leaked by show-goers who saw the game in action.
Be aware that the following is not confirmed:
Leon Kennedy is the main protagonist you control, but 4 other characters from the RE world are in the game as well.
You can holster your weapon while sationary or when walking, as well as draw it back out. Leon can also carry two different weapons in each hand, or mix and match with his flashlight.
Zombies don't only use their sight to detect you, they can also hear you and even smell you out, and can climb or get through certain objects, like windows. Gunshots in empty rooms will alert zombies in the general vincinity, and they will seek out the source of the noise. Leon can also barricade doors to keep zombies sectioned off from pursuing him. Zombies will also have several hit points located on their bodies.
Three different weapons were shown; a knife, a handgun, a assault rifle and a moltov cocktail. When shooting or aiming, you can switch between two different perspectives.
The shadowy, hook-wielding monsters from the E3 video cannot be killed, and they can change the environment around them. They can bring objects also seen in the E3 video to life, such as dolls and dead animals, like the stuffed deer head.
Whew! Exciting stuff! Guess we'll have to wait till March (rumored when the RE4 NDA ends) to get the real details about one of 2004's most anticipated games!

I love RE! But this is great, multiple weapons being used at once, and the harder more intelligent zombies....great!

I agree, while Code Veronica was better than Zero by leaps and bounds it was still one of the weaker ones in the series. I hope part 4 can pull off something that would restore some of my faith in them.
From what I've seen, I think outbreak will be one of the best titles they've turned out in a few years

Awesome. I can't wait for this. I really hope they set this series right again. Code Veronica X and Resident Evil Zero were major let downs, for me at least. I'm excited to see the story REALLY move forward and no more prequel garbage.
The gameplay sounds exciting. it's ABOUT time you can walk and shoot at the same time. Looking forward to this. [img]cool.gif[/img]
